<p>For someone coming from an Ivy League school and hoping to get into one of similar caliber, is it better to transfer after freshman year or sophomore year?

<p>It’s probably better to transfer as a soph in the sense of being able to spend more time at your transfer school, be able to do a semester abroad, etc.</p>
<p>As far as admissions, it depends on if it’s really a lateral transfer or if it’s to a more or less selective school. Either way it doesn’t hurt to apply for a soph transfer as you can always apply as a jr if you don’t make it the first time.</p>
