Upon what conditions, except for criminal related issues, will a university withdraw their offer? For example, if I’m getting 3.8 GPA right now, will a 3.6 GPA make them withdraw an offer? Or does it have to be a drastic change, for example, a sudden 3.0 GPA, for them to withdraw their offer?
Currently I’m doing the IB diploma, and I think my grades are going to drop by around 2 out of 45 this year because I didn’t manage time well (too focused on my external projects lol). I’m not sure if this will make UChicago withdraw the offer. Thank you!
I remember a UChicago rep at an event for international students who was asked bluntly something like “what IB score do I need to get in?” His response was mealy as usual but indicated there might be a soft floor around 39-40 points, below which the admissions committee begin to worry about an applicant’s ability to handle their courseload.
If you’re going to fall to a 36/45, worry. If you’re going to lose two points in a single class, or fall as low as a 4 in any class, worry.
Obviously the best thing to do is buckle down and prevent your grades from sliding in the first place. Losing only one point, or losing two points and gaining a third elsewhere, is a lot safer than losing two, and of course if you maintain your grades you have almost nothing to worry about.
catisforlife - You must have mis-read the OP’s question. The OP has ALREADY BEEN ACCEPTED and the question is not “what will get me in” but rather is…“Is there any chance that accepted may be… withdrawn?” I am also curious as I don’t know the answer but I would suspect that once you get an acceptance letter, the ball is in your court.
