Thanks, 2blue. I am really unsettled by this storm, with Hanna coming right on its heels.. and find that I am so worried that I've actually taken to reading the political threads here to take my mind off the weather ! Maybe I am going to have to rename this thread "When will he start to REpack?"

I double.. no triple checked-- reminded him again to pack his phone and laptop chargers.

Good point, dragonmom-- technology sure has changed things. It'll be interesting to see how they resolve this name thing....

Their name is one that can easily be shortened into a nickname (like "Steve" for "Steven"), but only one of them goes by the nickname. The rest all use the longer, full, formal name.

Now by the time this post posts, the thing I am going to refer to will be gone, but as I type, the banner ad running along the left-hand side is for some *really RUDE looking jock straps. Its a nexTag ad-- for "Greggs X-it string thong, Homme Basixx String thong" and some sort of lo-rise jeans cotton trunks that are appropriatesly blurred or shaded in just the correct location. I am not making this up. I couldn't. Watch for it folks. Its pretty entertaining.

jym626, I know some time has passed, but my ad is for University of London, with no graphics. I never get skanky ads or ads with illustrations while looking at CC. Maybe they don't kick in until you're a big-time poster!

Good morning-
As I type, the ad to my left is also for University of New Haven. But they rotate. Keep your eyes out (or should I say you dont have to-- it'll jump out at you).
VH- THe Current message from Tulane is that the campus will reopen on Weds and classes resume on Thursday. Who knows... we'll see. DS called a few minutes ago- he will be getting on a shuttle soon to the airport. The school is running them every 40 minutes.

VH-
Sorry-- I had given the evacuation saga on a couple of other threads. He is flying home. Not sure yet about a return. A neighbor had called to see if he needed a ride, but we already had the airline ticket. Not sure if she'll have room for him in her car on the way back or not. Depends on who she brought and how much junk they brought with them. That will be today's phonecall.

After h.s. graduation, I compiled the "lists" for dorm move-in. I was looking forward to spending time with my S, doing the shopping. He ended up doing it all himself (of course, I picked up a few items here and there too!). At first I was sad that he was going without me, but after a bit, I was really happy that I didn't have to deal with it! Now when I put the list with a few remaining (non-important) items out on the table for a reminder, he tells me to "Stop"!! So, I have stopped. I'm sure he'll wait until the last minute to pack his clothes, which is pretty much all that is left. But I'm leaving that up to him.

I just want move-in weekend to be over with (2 weeks away now). I'm tired of stressing about that weekend and how I'm going to feel.

My ad is test masters--text only, staid with no graphics at all. Hmmm, maybe they fixed it....have never seen any graphic rude ads yet, thankfully.

OMG, I just got the NexTag ad, too! I did a print screen of it, so if anyone (mods included) want to see it, PM me.

You know, the funny thing is that the ads seem to be generated based on the words or titles in the posts. I guess "pack" was the operative word here, hm? ;)

I've got the gstring thong jockstraps again!!

And patsmom-
I read your post #332 on my blackberry as I was driving to the airport to pick up DS and a friend of his (the friend is staying with his friends at Emory)- I burst into hysterics! Thank you! I needed that. With Gustav a Cat 4 (almost a 5) I could use all the laughter I can get.

Wow, I only get boring ads too. Must be we're doing something wrong or something. Let's see whether it gets more interesting if I write jock, thong, pack. So far, I don't even really notice the ads, but none have been memorable at all.
