Does anyone know if UC Davis lets waitlisted students know before May 1st or after? What are the chances of getting of the waitlist?
Also, does choosing a more impacted major decrease my chances of getting off the waitlist?
If they are like every school I am aware of, they wait until accepted students make their decisions by May 1, see how they net out in terms of attending students, see if there are fewer than they planned for, and then offer slots to wait list students, if they are, a week or two later.
I would also be quite surprised if you would be able to change key facets of your application at this point.
Looking at what they reported in their 2018-2019 common data set, of the 3207 students who accepted a spot 34 were offered admission.
Last year, waitlist decisions went out around May 15th. Since UCD does not state how they determine how applicants are chosen off the waitlist, it will most likely based on major and which majors still have open spots. Please SIR to another school by May 1 and get excited about that option since there is no way to tell if they will take many students off the waitlist. Best of luck and “bloom where planted” .
