When will I recieve an answer for early action?

Hello,

I applied to OSU in October and still haven’t received an evaluation of whether I am accepted, deferred or not. Did I somehow miss the deadline and was pushed into the regular deadline? (my transcript was two weeks over the deadline but I submitted the common App and everything else Oct. 30th, before Nov. 1st). Are any other early action applicants still waiting on responses?

I am worried because I took the October ACT and scored a 30, but my previous score was a 26 and they weren’t supposed to consider my October score for the early pool (they did receive it though). I was under the impression by my guidance counselors that if I got deferred I would be able to update my application (ACT scores, resume and whatnot) for the regular decision, but since there’s only like 10 days until the regular deadline I am guessing this is not the case. I emailed OSU but they didn’t answer this question.

If I get deferred will OSU take my most recent ACT into consideration for the next wave of applicants? (

They should be rolling EA decisions today starting at 3:30 EST until midnight.
It could possibly be sent next Friday too if there were a lot of EA applicants

The wait is killing us. My son had everything in on 10/15. Admissions said probably today but nothing. Worried he will be rejected at main campus.

@thirdchildz finally get a notification?

We are still waiting on EA decision for my daughter. She applied on 10/31. Maybe next Friday. ;(

Why is it taking so long? Has anyone spoken to the admission department. Will it come out earlier then Friday?

Nope

Any news ?

Are others still waiting to hear back on early action?

Yes still waiting for EA

Heard from my sons osu rep. They are trying to get it out ASAP. Hopefully tomorrow

Still waiting on EA decision…

Still nothing on EA

By 4 p.m., was given a “deferred status”, decision by end of March. Shocked to say the least, after all, this is only Ohio State. Has already been accepted into more competitive colleges honors programs.

@MarkL1234 I know the feeling but realize Admissions is tricky to figure out. I tell my kids to apply broadly and accept the outcomes. Trying to compare one school’s status to another’s can be an exercise in futility. What’s nice is you’ve already got good decisions in hand even if you may have to wait a little longer than you anticipated for this one.
