When will new construction be done?

Others have mentioned new dorms as well as a new student center that are being constructed at Rose Hill. Do you know when these will be completed? I think the dorms are for upper classmen, but the new student center sounds fabulous! Will 2014 get to use it?

The new upperclassmen dorms are set to open in the fall fro m what I’ve heard but I think they’re doing the LC construction before the new student center so that’s a long way off. The current Dining Hall/ Athletics building is amazing though so I’ve been pretty happy just being there.

Like nyc 2013 stated, the dorms are set to open this upcoming fall.
Fordham is also getting a new $30 million business building. The news was announced a few days earlier. Hughes Hall (freshman dorm) is being converted into the new business school. So I would assume the new residence halls will also house underclassmen to compensate for the lost space.

[Board Approves Renovation of Hughes for CBA](http://www.fordham.edu/Campus_Resources/eNewsroom/topstories_1781.asp)

The new dorms are for upperclassmen only. Martyr’s isn’t a part of the lottery this year so maybe some rooms there will be used for freshmen. Also, there is no date for when the Hughes Hall rennovation will start (a really good project for Fordham CBA) so there is a small chance that building could be a dorm for another year or so. Not sure. No word on when the new student center is coming but the existing one is just fine.

It’s going to start sooner than later – as soon as the money is raised. $10 million was already raised by the BOD before the project was even announced and they might get the balance from a single donor (maybe Gabelli) who can donate for naming rights.

There goes the extra financial aid my kid needs!!

It would be nice if the money came in quickly from one donor. It will be good for CBA to have a home base on campus.
And almostbroke, the goal of Fordham’s Excelsior campaign is not only to improve and update the school’s physical plant but to raise funds to offer more financial aid as well.
In any event, good luck getting the aid.
