<p>What is the earliest date the PSAT scores will come out? Since I provided my email, will I be emailed my online access code to the scores, or will I need to wait until I receive the paper?</p>

<p>They come out in early December. Unless they changed it from last year, you get a paper report at school before it is accessible online. In fact, last year, until the school gave my son the paper, he didn’t have the access code you need to see the score info online.</p>
<p>My kids’ schools handed them out the third week in January, after all the college applications were done, so the counselors could then concentrate on the juniors. We weren’t given access to the scores online or anything. These schools have all sophomores and juniors take the PSAT.</p>

<p>I received my oldest DD scores during the first week of December in 2009. I do recall others geting them a week or so prior to that.</p>
<p>Does anyone know if the scores will be posted on the CB site for those who have already registered on CB for the purpose of taking the SAT exam? My son took the early Oct SAT and the mid-October PSAT, so I was curious if his PSAT scores might be available on line earlier than the GC’s paper communication.</p>

<p>No, it will not appear in the SAT area of your college board “account”… It will EVENTUALLY appear in the “My College Quickstart” portion of College Board’s site - just not until mid January or so… By then you will probably already received your paper score report from your school… You can call it up online sooner, but not without the code that is on the paper score report! Catch 22 :(</p>
<p>As a senior who just went through the whole national merit process, it is incredibly annoying. You cannot check anything yourself–you have to wait for the psat people to snail mail access codes and score reports to your school, and then it is entirely up to the GC when you get your scores. If you advance in the competition the same thing happens. You’re not allowed to do anything without the GC and school, so make sure you’re on top of it. If the counselor doesn’t give you your info causing you miss the national merit application deadline, oh well.</p>
<p>Thank you both for your detailed responses. Definitely a Catch-22! I don’t think my son will qualify beyond the commended level so the concern is not as great as it is for NMSFs, but the entire communication process is interesting. Payment for the exam is to the HS but the test is a CB test. </p>
<p>Fortunately, I think our GCs are on top of things like this as they are used to dealing with a somewhat demanding parent body. Thanks again!</p>
