When will the wait listed be informed about their final admission decision ?

Please help.

Most likely you won’t be informed. Just like an airport when you are waitlisted, if there is a seat for you you will be notified. Very few, if any, individuals that accept a place on the waitlist end up being offered a spot.

If you have not heard by now you won’t. This class is full and closed.

I talked to one of the counselors a couple of days ago and she said there may be more acceptances in early June.

my hub updated to this message

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. After an individualized and comprehensive review of your application and all related materials, a decision has been made. We regret that we are not able to offer you a place in our upcoming class at this time. However, you have been placed on an extended waitlist. Should an opening become available, you will be notified immediately. If no openings are available, you will hear from us by the end of June.

new last sentance

Last year some people were notified pretty quickly, others not till really, really late. Best thing is to be proactive: make sure that they get your final grades, send another really great teacher recommendation, update them on the great stuff that you’ve done since you applied, maybe talk about your future plans and what an education at UM would mean to you. Don’t overwhelm them, but don’t just sit and wait to be notified. At the same time, make plans for next fall at your 2nd-choice school and be happy.

I think you will better off not thinking about U-M and concentrating your thoughts on the school you will be attending in the fall. The chances of coming off the wait list are so small that the thought of having a chance can be psychologically damaging.

If you get off the wait list, consider it an unexpected gift and evaluate your options at that time.

I am sorry you were waitlisted by U-M but you will have good opportunities ahead if you look for them.

Thank you all. I have already accepted a spot at USC and I accepted the waitlist at the same time just because it won’t hurt to do it. Just keeping my fingers crossed.
