Likewise, BC is by far my top choice and I will attend if accepted.

To my lucky pals who love close enough to BC to hopefully receive mail tomorrow, let us know if you get an envelope, what it looks like, all that jazz.

not sure if I’d attend. it’s up there. I <3 boston, so we’ll see.

Just wondering, this is all speculation that they’ve already sent out their decisions right? Do we know for sure?

Called admissions office yesterday. Told me it is sent out on 3/22/13, today. No change in Agora will be posted according to her. GL.

Thanks uoume2000. For us in the NYC area there’s a possibility we could receive our package/letter tomorrow or else it would definitely be on Monday.

It’s confirmed that decisions were mailed today? Awesome!

What do you guys think the acceptance rate will be this year since they had so many less applicants?

I’d say a good estimate will be about ~33%. I really don’t know though but obviously higher than 29% which is what it was last year.

But you also have to factor in that they’ll likely have a higher yield, since applicants cared enough to write the essay… I think it might have been sort of a tough calculation.

Wait, so I missed it. Were letters definitely mailed?

I will definitely attend if I can afford it… It is heart-breaking how hard I worked to get into my top choice schools, because most likely I wont be going to any of them because of the money. My parents have really screwed me over for being solid middle class. No financial aid for me. Is anyone in my boat here?

Will your parents try to help pay?? Can you takeout a loan?? Which schools do you want to go to? How much financial aid do you think you’ll get?

Well of course they will help. But it isn’t enough. I cant take out 40K a year. I want to go to BC! Or JHU. but looking at what I have gotten from UR and Northeastern, it looks like, even if I do get in, I wont be getting enough money anyway. I’m just asking for pitty. Not really anything I can do at this point in the game except hope for the best.

@buildadog. me too. I am BC or JHU and I am very worried about affording the colleges that I applied to. Hopefully, after we graduate college and grad school, we get super awesome jobs and pay back the loans in no time.

I am in the exact same boat. We are solidly and comfortably middle class, which gets us absolutely no aid, but then we do not have enough money to send 3 kids to school for 50K per year with no help. It’s a tough situation.

It is tough. I’m glad I’m not the only one though. Idk really know if taking out those loans is worth it.

@buildadog. As a parent, and speaking as an employer who founded my business 25 years ago I would recommend you explore all you options. Degrees from named schools may open a few doors, but more importantly in life it will be what you learn, and how you can apply it in a team environment. Do not let this momentary disappointment get in the way of your potential and future success. As for the significant loans for an undergraduate education, I would try to keep them to a minimum, and plan on investing in both an undergraduate education and graduate school.

any possibility we’ll get the mail today if we’re in boston area?

Anybody get the mail? I’m in China and some of my friends have received a letter from TNT, which inform them there is a 0.198kg package from Boston College…So I am terrified because I don’t get anything…

Nothing today in nj
