When writing about extracurriculars/achievements

<p>I am working on my University of Washington Application and I have listed National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, two internships, and qualifying as a Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition for my 5 activites/accompishments. UW recommends 100-200 words to "describe your accomplishments, activities, contributions, offices held, honors received, etc. -- and the significance it holds for you."</p>

<p>So I hit a wall when I came to the National Merit Semifinalist thing - what can I say about that honor besides "it's an honor"? I can't just leave it out of the application, but really all I did was do well on a test a year ago. Any ideas on what to say?</p>

<p>Just say you studied really hard to get it or some such nonsense.</p>

<p>Say “I’m glad I did well and it showed me the potential I had for future testing? Idk. I’m proud of myself?”</p>

<p>My school interviewed the semifinalists and they asked us about this. We were like “uhhhh . . did well on a test. . . . great”</p>

<p>Yeah, I feel the same way about mine. Just give it some cursory ******** about culmination of effort and pay it no more heed.</p>
