when you hear the word college...

when you hear the word college...do you immediately think of the process of getting into college..or the actual college experience itself.

personally, i used to immediately just think of the college admissions process...essays and gpas and sats and what if i dont get in and stuff. but now that i have applied to my first choice i find myself thinking more about what it will be like when i actually get into college. my first halloween in college and what kind of stuff i will need to buy for [hopefully] going to a city where it snows. stuff like that. i find that its a lot more fun and makes me feel a lot better.

=D.

i think of what it'll be like

I think of what it looks like.... yeah. Big gates, brick facades.

I think of the process.

my life after i graduate from college

i think of princeton. which is weird, because its not necesarily my first choice.

Honestly?

When I hear the word "college," I want to scream.

Stress!

I think of dorms and hanging out with friends.. in dorms.. and having parties in dorms..

lol, hollywoodadiva described my reaction pretty well.
all I really think about is getting in to college. I haven't thought much past that.

This thread is really sad.

I am immediately frightened, and usually try defer the topic to a later time or use distraction so that I won't have to think about it. The process of getting in can't be much better than college itself, which seems like high school with far tougher academics and convoluted social scenes. (And yet getting high grades, acing the GRE and related tests, and racking up internships and experience still apply.)

I think of the process and how I'm still only 1/12 done. And I think about what I'm going to be like next June when I'll already have decided where to go.
