when you transfer university

<p>Because I'm an international senior, I do not fully understand how you transfer from uni to uni. I'm going to attend a university in the USA from fall 2013 and I think I might transfer because of family issue..</p>

<p>So my question is that what is the requirement for transferring?
like do they look at high school GPA, university GPA, SAT, SAT 2, TOEFL (because i'm an international student), essays, credits, and more..</p>

<p>I know these factors vary from universities but still I want to know in general.</p>

<p>any adv/disadv of transferring?
and some people transfer after 1 year and another do after 2 years. What decides the time to transfer?</p>
