Ok. I want to set something straight. I went up for A&O June 26th and 27th. I live in Connecticut and prior to leaving did not know anyone at UW. I thought the A&O session was a lot of fun. I personally am not the most social when it comes to walking up and meeting people, but this is college and you have to take risks. If you are willing to approach random people and say hi, you are bound to have an awesome time... trust me.

ay balaz, so what you think of those skits! lol haha what about the asian guy saying i'll have a hot dog....actually make it a "FOOT LONG"! haha I was at the a n o for 26th and 27th as well!

Hey for all of you that have already gone, what exactly do you do on the first day? When do you take your ID picture and register?

the first day you split up into smaller groups, do activities to get to know each other based on learning interests, etc. you have a couple speakers come in to talk about the school, technology on campus, stuff like that. you get the mountains beyond mountains book. you don't get your id or register until the second day.

Even though I was dead tired for that, I have to say it was really funny. The first day was definitely more get to know the admin/leaders and students, the second day was registration and tours and photo ID.

I am an international...My A&O is on the 18th september...I cant register for classes until i physically check-in with the ISO office. I can check-in only on 12th september...i guess thats pretty late and i am worried...what if the classes i want get closed...

can you leave early on either day??

They say you can't leave early, but I don't know if they just discourage it or if you seriously can't. The second day you get your ID cards right as you leave, so I wouldn't suggest leaving early.

I cant leave early as i am on a student visa...its a rule..
i cant enter US early...
Shall i write to UW stating my problem...i am worried i will be left with crappy classes..others would have closed..

i thought you could get your id card at any time, even before your registration date. that's what my friend did .. he got his id while we were still in high school, haha.

heh melvin......doesnt count

wait, so we can or we cannot leave early? because i know we can sign up for classes online after our orientation date. i had to put registration on my birthday, but i mos def don't want to stay there the whole time.

side note: hey rohith. i still haven't seen you this summer.

august 3 & 4...business...TOMORROW

Just curious, but do you guys happen to know the date of the last A&O session? I've got lowest priority for signing up for classes and right now, there's only about six seats left in one of my choices... To top it off, my UW Net-ID isn't working right now, so I can't get very far in the website for the sessions (https://depts.washington.edu/fyp/regapp/autumn/registration.php).

If any of you guys might be able to tell me, I'd really appreciate it :)

international orientation is around mid sept, i guess thats one of the last ones
