Where all should I apply?

Hello!
This is my first post to CC, so please bear in mind that I am a noob =)
Anyways, I am a senior this year, and it’s obviously time to start applying places. Before I say anything else, let me give me accolades thus far:

-I am 1 of 109 at my high school.
-I have an unweighted 4.0 GPA.
-This past and current year I have been going to a community college through Ohio’s PSEOP/College Credit Plus program for all of my classes. I am on track to graduate high school with an Associates of Science on top of my high school diploma.
-I received a 32 composite score on the ACT, with a 28 in Math, a 31 in Science, a 33 in Reading, and a 35 in English.
-I am VP of Phi Theta Kappa at the community college.
-I am Secretary of the National Society of Leadership and Success at the community college.
-I went to Buckeye Boys’ State (the best in the nation!).
-And that’s it…

The list is admittedly small, but I live in rural Ohio and the opportunities have simply not been there. Going to the community college was the best way to push myself. I did not join my high school’s NHS because it had many stupid rules that would have disqualified me (because I am never at the high school). I have around $50,000 that I inherited to go toward college, so I can afford to go to the best I can get into. I am undecided as to my major, but I am considering going for economics or another business-oriented degree (likely), environmental policy (unlikely), or creative writing (most unlikely). All that said, where would you suggest applying to? I am currently working on applications to:

Cornell University
Oberlin College
New York University
Ohio State University

I am shooting in the dark when it comes to applying to colleges, and choosing one is going to be even harder. Would you suggest I apply to more prestigious universities than OSU, NYU, or Oberlin? Or is Cornell too far-fetched? Also, do you have any advice for writing a good essay? Or choosing a career? I am so lost lol

Congrats on your achievements to date. You should investigate the Honors Colleges of other Ohio schools. Maybe Miami of OH or Case Western or U Cincinnati? You should also become familiar with costs, too. Your $50K would be almost enough for one year at NYU.
