Where are my best options for transfer scholarships?

I am currently at a community college in NC which is my home state. I am also a nontraditional student so I am able to file independently and what not. I am eligible for the Pell grant and institutional grants which vary depending on the school. My EFC is extremely low since it’ll only be based off of my income which is at most 10K a year. I plan on transferring into either NC State’s or NC A&T engineering programs. The thought of transferring into a private university has also crossed my mind. My GPA is currently 3.79. My CC has agreements in engineering with all NC system universities (UNC Charlotte, ECU, WCU, NCSU, and NC A&T). Would it be wise for me to apply to only in state universities or should I look at potentially applying to some private universities? Are there some schools that could potentially give me a full ride based off of my EFC and scholarships? I know that financial aid is limited for transfer students and this is why I am asking.

You should ask at your CC if they know of NC schools that give transfer scholarships.

Instate might be more affordable if you qualify for state aid in addition to Pell. You can also get a $12,500 student loan I believe.

Thank you for replying to my post! I will definitely ask my CC about whether or not any NC schools with transfer scholarships.

Thank you for your input. I am going to look into the links you gave me. Some of these I have already looked at it’s just that there isn’t much information on transfer scholarships at many of the local universities. Once again, thank you for your input.

Transfer scholarships are just in short supply.

For privates, your best bet are schools that meet full need for transfers but those are tough to get into.

Transfer scholarships are not going to be huge, maybe a few thousand dollars. So I think your best bet is a school in your state that has a transfer agreement with your current school, instate tuition rates are lower than OOS, and with a low EFC you should qualify for some federal and state grants, together with a $12,500 loan and a part-time job it should be affordable.
