Where are you from?

^^^

What does she want to study?

BTW…Bama is big enough that students don’t frequently see their former classmates. Yes, you may see one walking to class or something, but it’s not like a former classmate would likely end up in your classes - at least not very often.

My kids haven’t had any former HS classmates in any of their classes.

We live in Kapolei, Hawaii, about 22 congested freeway miles from downtown Honolulu. Son attends President Obama’s alma mater. The school was founded in 1841 and you could probably count the number of alumni who’ve attended UA on one hand and still have fingers left over :)

I love that he’s had the courage to think independently through this process. I’ll be proudly wearing my way-cool University of Alabama aloha shirt (found it on e-Bay) at his baccalaureate ceremony next month.

I am from an area just north of Philadelphia. We are a commuting suburb.

From Chicago

^ DS also from outside Chicago!

From the Westside of Cleveland!

12 hours from T town to home! DD could not be happier!

Another Orange County CA student who is bama bound

from Kansas :-)

To be a bit more descriptive, I’m from the Kansas City area, from a suburb on the Kansas side. Oh, and I’m one of <10 UA students from Kansas.

^^^

I think Bama has a hard time getting Kansas NMFs to come here since Oklahoma offers a similar scholarship and is closer.

BTW…39% of freshmen last fall were from out of state!

Total freshmen…5207
Resident freshmen…3155
Non-res freshmen…2052 (39.4%) That’s really good for a public U.

From Chicago Suburbs

From Pittsburgh suburbs

We are from Central NJ. Right by Rutgers(No scholorship programs like UA). I also grew up down the shore and I agree it is getting a bad rap. D cant wait to get down there in August but I do feel she will be looking for good Pizza and bagel snadwiches when we come down. She is not a big Taylor ham/Pork roll fan. I am though thats real Jersey espesiall if you slice it thick off the roll.Jersey guys know what I mean) Roll Tide.

Could the NJ Bama greeting be (Pork) Roll Tide ;)?

When we first moved down here, we couldn’t believe that stores didn’t carry Taylor Pork Roll. I mean, isn’t it a basic, like bacon!? Luckily, Publix now carries it. Phew!

i don’t know what that is, but i am not sure it sounds good to me!

Mike,

Taylor Pork Roll is similar to a thick slice of canadian bacon but much more flavorful in my opinion. You pan fry it and then throw a couple slices on a Kaiser roll along with some scrambled eggs & cheese. Delicious.

I was born in Philly so I eat both pork roll and scrapple. My mouth loves both foods but not sure my heart does :-)

Next thing you guy’s will be saying is that Taylor Pork Roll beats out a Hot Dog, Fries and a Knish at Nathan’s in Coney Island. How so untrue!

Hey wait a second I don’t live in Brooklyn any longer. I should have said Down East (as in Carolina) pork barbecue!

S is from North surburbs of Chicago. I am orginally from Philly, and I think scrapple is kind of scary, but DH LOVES it. Don’t much care for the Taylor’s ham either (but, again, he loves it).

AL34, whitesox24, TooRealistic

I am from the Chicagoland area as well, near the Calumet City/South Holland suburbs. How far are you from there?

We are from Naperville, about 20 minutes west of the city.

TooRealistic,

What part of Philly? I grew up in the far northeast.

I try to find out as little about the food I eat as possible. I’m sure if I ever found out half of what is in the foods I consume, I wouldn’t be consuming them any longer :-)
