Where are You guys at in AP Physics?

My class is currently in the middle of newton's laws. Are we behind?

No, different classes start out differently.

I just did my thermodynamics and fluid mechanics test

Starting waves and optics. School started in July for us though.

finished 2 dimensional motion

lol talk about being behind

finished newton’s laws. next is newton’s laws applied to centripetal motion which will take a couple days.

We just finished centripetal motion.

Work and energy. We’re a bit behind pace according to our syllabus.

Starting two dimensional motion.

Needless to say, I will not be taking the AP test.

We will be doing angular momentum next and just had a test on linear momentum. We should be starting E and M before winter break.

got up to simple harmonic motion and pendulum. Since my school is on a block schedule, I have to self-study some of the chapters in the textbook. Third term’s main focus is electricity and magnetism.

lol @ jamesford

we just finished thermodynamics… is anyone else using Giancoli?

we are on Chapter 15

halliday/resnick ftw

momentum and energy

We’re doing momentum and some center of mass stuff… watching MIT lectures, blehh.

@peacein345: That’s our school’s physics honors book, haha. We use Young and Freedman.

We started with Electricity and Coulumbs lol.

We did kinematics, Newton’s Laws, circular motion, torque, rotational kinematics (this isn’t actually in the syllabus), and simple harmonic motion.

Just starting rotation. We’ve completed One-Dimensional Motion and Multi-Dimensional Motion, as well as Forces and Circluar Motion. We’re a little behind, but the course heats up during the middle I would suppose. Overall though, it’s a fairly easy course.

We’ve done motion in one and two dimensions, newton’s laws, circular and planetary motion, and we’re about to test on Work, Power and Energy.

Finished momentum

@sylviecerise

lol. our school uses it for both AP and honors. i think it is because we have to buy our books and a lot of kids take honors and then AP, so they don’t have to rebuy and are already familiar with the text. meh, it works well enough
