Where Can I get in - Mechanical Engineering

I am about to do all my applications. I plan on applying to all the UC’s but am struggling where else to apply. I have an overall GPA of 4.65 W - 3.93 UW, 35ACT, Water Polo all 4 years - Varsity Senior year, Kawanis Club all four years and holding a spot on the board each year. Hoping to get into a good UC for Mechanical Engineering but I keep hearing horror stories of rejection letters. Where else can you suggest to apply for Mechanical Engineering with my stats.
Thanks

Cal Poly SLO is also a tough admit but excellent for Engineering. Harvey Mudd another top school for Engineering/Science.

What can you afford to pay for college?

Your stats look very competitive for all the UCs. UCB and UCLA are a bit of a crapshoot for anyone, but if you apply to the top 6 UCs it looks to me like you’d get into at least one of them. Cal Poly is another very good one you should apply to. I assume you’ve taken the SAT Math II and some other science subject tests, because a couple of the UC engineering schools want those. Put a lot of effort into the essays because I think those are pretty important too. Do you have any engineering related ECs? If so, try to create a cohesive application that weaves those ECs into your ME interest.

Cost is flexible but would like to stay at 35k. My SAT MATH II 790 CHEM 800 Subject A/P Chem 5 & Calc A/B 5 Internship at the local university in the mechanical Engineering department over the summer. Other summers took college courses.
