From the information you’ve given, it would appear that you should have a good shot at places such as state flagships, good but perhaps not elite LACs, and probably the lower end of the “top 20” university lists. This is a rough estimate, though.

Is your GPA weighted or unweighted? What is your class rank? How are your SATIIs? Have you taken any AP exams, and if so, how did you do? And chance of raising your ACT? Do you have any other ECs? What are you interested in? What state do you live in?

you have a good shot at many selective and top schools. remember, you don’t have to be a genius or done something spectacular to get in those schools. they’re are plenty of other ways you make yourself stand out.

Start by visiting your local state U, a liberal arts college (LAC) and a medium-sized private school in your area. These three broad types of educational institutions provide very different college experiences. Once you know what environment most appeals to you, we can give you better advice. We also want to know:

1) georgraphic preferences-part of the country, urban/rural/suburban, weather, etc…
2) areas of academic interest (if it’s engineering, for example, there are only a few LACs that offer it)
3) financial situation
4) type of culture: artsy, preppy, jock, quirky, fratty, religious, single-sex, granola-give us some adjectives to describe your ideal learning environment
5) deal-breakers

Without more info, you will just get a random list of schools thrown at you.

That GPA is weighted, unweighted is like a 3.84. Class rank is top 10% I believe, but I haven’t seen it for about half a year. My SAT was like 1900, but the vocab took me by suprise because I had very little time to prepare for it (mom said I’m taking it the evening before). I took the ACT again and almost certainly improved. I swim competitively so don’t have time for much EC’s (although I have been recruited by lots of schools that I ruled out because of location), but I have done like 25 hours of volunteering for things like triathalons and activites for kids. I’m interested in a science major and I live in Colorado but I prefer the west coast.

What can your family afford?

money isn’t really an issue, since birth my parents have saved for me to attend a wide variety of schools later in life.
