Hi guys currently I am at a very well ranked all male liberal arts college. Im enjoying it here but not as much since they do not have a business program and that is what I want to go into. I am currently a freshman, here are my stats:

High School:

Gpa UW-3.28 (5AP classes and IB Diploma) W-3.53
The IB and AP classes really hurt my GPA..
Played varsity golf for 3 years and have a decent amount of ECS
ACT - 27

College:

3.48 GPA (1st Semester) Had a B, B+, B+ and an A

This semester I hope to finish up with 3 A's and a B+

I applied to UVA and got rejected.. Still waiting on Emory and Northwestern.. One mistake I made is I didn't send in midterm reports or professor recommendations for UVA.. I did do this for Emory and Northwestern..

You guys have any suggestions??

If you don’t get in this time around, continue to raise your GPA and involve yourself in extracurriculars. You will most likely need to show improvement over your past performance if these schools didn’t accept you off the bat. (Your GPA hasn’t significantly improved from high school yet.) You will also need to demonstrate leadership ability, focus, and determination. I think your best bet at transferring into a better school would be to wait to apply as a junior transfer. In your sophomore year, really push yourself – devote yourself to studying, join any honors programs that your school might offer, and get involved with clubs on campus. Intern in the field you want to go into. If you apply as a junior you’ll be transferring in with a specific major in mind, and if you can write about why you chose that major for a compelling reason, you will also be demonstrating more focus. You will also want to start building relationships with your professors if you aren’t already – go visit during office hours, participate in class, etc. – because you will need some good reqs.
