Sophomore Transfer Help

I am a sophomore at a top 25 liberal arts college in Massachusetts. I had strongly considered transferring last year, but at the last minute decided against it, however things have not gotten any better. I am looking to transfer to a bigger school than where I am at currently and I am looking down south. I had almost transferred to Clemson last year, but thought that it would be too much of a step down in academics. If it would be possible to look at my profile for applying to schools and give me some feedback on where I should look and my chances of acceptance at these school that would be great.

GPA:3.0
Major:Economics
ECs:Club Lacrosse, Salvation Army Tutoring, a job in the catering business and an internship this summer. High school ecs are some sports and a lot of service at a few specific organizations.
HS GPA: ~3.5
ACT:26, superscored 28
Schools I am looking at: Wake Forest, UNC, UGA, UVA, also some midwest schools like Michigan and Wisconsin.

Judging by my current credentials, how am I looking for these schools? Also, if anyone has any schools that fit the criteria of strong academic schools that aren't too small with a lot of school spirit, that would help too.

As a soph transfer, your HS record and test scores are going to still be given a fair amount of weight, and the fact that your college gpa is lower, is not going to be helpful in transferring.

Are you IS for any of the publics you listed, and are you prepared to pay full OOS tuition at the others? Other than UVA, you are likely to get little if any FA from them.

I understand that my gpa isn’t stellar, but does it matter that I would be transferring from a school pretty well known for its’ grade deflation? Or the fact that it is a top LAC?

I am fully prepared to pay full OOS tuition for all schools, I amnot looking for financial aid

To be honest most big ten schools are very strong academically based on what you are trying to major in. And they are able to accept and accommodate for a lot of transfer students.
