<p>For international student, if I arrive CMU one week before dorm opening, where can I stay, except for hotel?
Any recommend place to stay for student?</p>

<p>CMU has an international student orientation that starts a few days before normal student orientation, so I'm not sure how much earlier than that you would want to arrive. Will your parents be with you? If not, you might have some trouble renting a hotel room- American hotels generally won't rent rooms to people under 18, and strongly dislike renting rooms to people under 21.</p>
<p>I plan to arrive there around 11 or 12 August, but international orientation is on August 18, 2007.</p>

<p>I have the same problem. I need to participate in the pre-college program, and the program ends on Aug 10th.</p>
