where did everyone go?

22 is pretty common, the least i've had here is i think 20. and hes not going to be able to change that. and as for going to summer school, if that prevents your son from getting set back then yes, that is a very good thing. i went to summer school and it sucks, but at least im still going to graduate with my class.

my son went to summer school this past summer for either calc or physics, I forget! And he then delayed going out to sea being B-Slpit, but he is still on track, that is all that matters to him.

And yes, KP has a great system of help!

My son is also having troubles in both calc and physics. Tutors are working and things are looking up.

This really happened at a college. The prof told the students that they were allowed to bring in an eight by eleven sheet of paper, and anything they could put on that paper, they were allowed to use during the test.

One creative student found a person who was an expert on the topic that he was taking the test in, and had the expert stand on the 8x11 paper. The teacher thought it was so smart, that he allowed it, and the student got an A.

What a great story! I love it when folks show genuine ingenuity and are rewarded thusly!

to all you parents that have plebes struggling with calc or physics or both...it is ok...we had a long thread last year about that...and it is not surprising they are working hard for maybe the first time in their educational experience...Jamzmom...I do not have a clue how to copy the link to that thread from last year....can you help...cjc

I love the jokes! Just wish I could remember some so I could post them.

Hope this is the correct thread to post this. Our son is doing great in calc. It's the physics that has him on tilt. He very readily went for tutoring when he felt he was getting in over his head & said it has helped a lot. According to him he is studying "all the time."

The REAL question I have is how do you get them to answer you in more than one or two words? I think I ask questions that should have a somewhat lenghty response and all I get is, "yeup", "yea", "alright", "dunno"....

I know our boy is quiet but it is like pulling teeth to get him to give any info.

Are we they only ones that have plebes like this?

Just wondering.

Thanks

Were you talking to my son? Sounds like him.

Maybe??!!

Thanks, We're not alone!

RenoMom2011--

I thought I was his birth mother, but maybe I was wrong! (I think this trait is carried on the "y" chromosone!)

Can you conjugate the verb "HUH"?

Too funny!

Thanks for the laugh!

Can you conjugate the verb "HUH"? ( a challenge!)

Huh.
Y'huh
un-huh

nu-huh
huh-oh !
un-huh-oh!

Speaking of conjugate..... Have ya'll looked at airline prices to get the kids home for the holidays yet? My, oh my, my my. I'm truly thinking of getting him wing implants. Its bound to be cheaper. Sigh. Hey! At least I know what he's getting for Christmas! A big old Nuttin' besides a dang airline ticket! :)

So cute! The conjugating of "HUH"? I love it!

Airline prices don't worry us at this point as my husband fly's all the time & we either have free miles or the ticket is just darn cheap. Don't, (sorry a little redneck is coming out in me,) worry 'bout price, just git 'er done! :)

Just git 'er done. My son is sooo familiar with that phrase.

Unfortunately he has to hear , "git 'er done" & "I will fight you, I will win." :)

Gotta love the family nuances.(sp?, not my forte!)

^^^ Ya lucky duck. I have to bite the bullet I guess. That boy would crawl home on 800 miles of broken glass on his hands & knees if I don't.

HEY YOU GUYS! Guess what I just found! A must have new book for the collection! Thought ya'll might be interested in an early Xmas present to yourselves.

RenoMom, I think that are kids must be cloned. I sent an e-mail with three questions to my son today and the reply was:
no
good
good

That was it. No hello, goodbye or any thing else. He talked more when he was three years old.

Sorry, typo: meant our instead of are

Okay so maybe there is something in the water at Delano that makes the plebes answer in single syllables.......I was beginning to wonder why my son even bothers to call us because it is basically a one way conversation. I thought that perhaps a webcam with signs, for instance;
. How was your day mom & dad?
. I studied last night and feel confident that I will do well on my test for calc & physics.
. Today my friends and I went to NYC and visited the museums.
. I love Kings Point, thank you so much for supporting me.
. WAKE UP MOM, YOUR DREAMING

Oh well, it was just an idea.

here is a way to get something other than single syllable answers. ask S/D "what it the funniest thing to happen in the last day?" you cannot image the stories our S has told us - they are hilarious and it gives him a minute to reflect on the bright side of his day. Try it and let us know how it goes.

awwwww I'm jealous! You guys get actual words! I send the emails, ask the questions, and usually its no response, or I get an "lol"

....if I'm lucky...

lol (for good measure)

oh well. he just has a lot of talking to do when he gets home. hehehehe...
