Where did your 30 to 31 ACT kid get in? :)

Got into yale university with a 30 act. Only took once.

Questbridge, yes?

@Asil65 did your son receive any merit $$ at Lehigh? My daughter is interested in this school. She earned a 31 ACT has a 4.0 UW GPA and is ranked 1 out of 278. Just worried about the cost there.

@Much2learn how does your D like Lehigh? Did she receive any merit there? My D has similar stats and we are worried about the cost.

@bldtchr “how does your D like Lehigh? Did she receive any merit there?”

She is having a good freshman year at Lehigh.

D did not receive any merit. Lehigh is expensive and that was a concern for us too. I think each family has to decide for their situation. I also thought that for an engineering student, the value added from Lehigh was very good based on their placement. For us, it would have been less expensive for her to attend Illinois which has excellent engineering and would have been in-state tuition.

She was admitted to Illinois for Chem E. The issue with Illinois was that if an Illinois student decides to change to a different engineering or possibly even business major, they have to apply. Then they may be rejected, and have to accept being stuck in a major they do not like, or transfer to another school. We were not comfortable with that.

It is a very individual decision.

UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UCD all for electrical engineering

I got into MIT, USC, Williams, and am waiting to hear back from other schools with a 31 ACT.

@fantasyreader congrats on the MIT. Would you mind me asking what your other stats are? My D is still a junior and

My D is still a junior. Looking at Lehigh, UMich, Hopkins, and Cornell. Wisconsin as her safety

@bldtchr I had nothing impressive besides being 1/480 in my class. I think what helped me get in was my essays; I spent quite a bit of time on them. I made this my junior year, and nothing changed except my class rank moving up: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1890801-help-me-with-my-college-list-please-p1.html
