Any suggestions as to how I cam improve my chances would be appreciated. I also included everything I could think of in here, so some of them might be repeated, or may not be too important. I would really grateful if you could chance me for ED at:

Sure, Princeton is EA though, I think? EA means non-binding. Duke Brown and UPenn, since they want to keep their yield rates high, would be easier to get in.

Usually they say Hispanic female engineers have it easy in the admissions game. But seeing that you are a female engineer might counterbalance your “race”. I am sorry, but you know AA and all that stuff I imagine?!

Your scores are definitely up to par. Now the question is your low UW GPA… Since ranking is unavailable, you might be in serious danger here.
(i went to a public school 9-10 grade and switched to a private magnet school to be in the Engineering Magnet Program for 11-12 grade)

All this doesn’t really matter. You need to have the most rigorous box checked, though.

Great set of awards.

The Microsoft one seems interesting. Boeing as well. Maybe write your Princeton Summer Essay on it?

The Free the Slave one sounds interesting. Could you elaborate a bit more?

Overall, I think you have a very strong resume with respectable scores. Your UW GPA might raise an eyebrow. Could you explain what happened or how your school grading system works?

I think you would fit in Duke and UPenn ED. Not sure about Brown, and I don’t want to mislead you for EA chances.

Wow thank you so much haha

Additional stuff: im definitely in the top 15% probably even higher up there

Free the slaves is a international organization that is fighting to bring an end to slavery all around the world within the next 20 years. I was introduced to it nearly 3 or so years ago and have been working closely with a few of the co founders and many activists. I’ve done fundraisers, organized awareness raisers, and started the first high school chapter of the organization in the nation at my school. It’s truly something that I am really passionate about and want to be a part of (:

You go to school in Hawaii? Do you go Punahou?

Very interesting resume, you have a good a chance as anyone for the top colleges. The only thing about your app is your UW GPA: 3.6 is considerably low. Your leadership and ECs are phenomenal!

Apply Princeton EA.

I would strongly do UPenn or Duke ED. Princeton seems to be a reach with a 3.6

No I go to school in California! Hahah.
Yeah my GPA is low :frowning: I’m trying to bring it up first semester but idk how much that’ll help. Other than Princeton EA where do you guys think I should try ED?

This makes it worse… :frowning: Since you are ORM from a competitive state, I think Princeton EA would be bit of a stretch… Try Columbia&Dartmouth ED!!
The key is to apply somewhere where they won’t receive a lot of California applicants.

Bummmmpppp!

No, for early applications, the keys are to a) Apply to a place that you love so much that you are 100% sure that is your choice and b) Apply somewhere despite knowing the disadvantages you face.

If I had these stats, I would place my faith in Duke to accept me early. Brown’s unpredictable, Princeton is a pain and will reject seemingly anyone, Penn is another option but I think Duke is the best chance.

But apply where you love. Except for Princeton (which is SCEA so this WILL be your only early school if you choose this), all of these schools are ED so if you’re in, you’re in for good, no matter what happens - even if you discover something that makes you hate the school forever. I was almost set on applying ED to Penn. Then I go on a summer program there for a month and I lived on campus - now I have mixed feelings on Penn and I don’t know if ED would be smart. If you’re asking this question to make your decision on where to go early, you’re doing it wrong. Apply early to where you would have no regrets.

I’m really interested in duke and Penn. Hopefully I can make a final decision once I visit. But assuming i like them both equally you’re saying duke would be better?

Well I’m not an admissions officer but there’s always the chance that Penn could accept you ED and Duke would reject you. Similar things like that always happen.

If you love those two universities so much then

a) Visit. Not just campus tours, actually go around the entire place, meet the people and traditions, etc.
b) Research. There may be kickers for both colleges that could make or break your opinions on them. What are the pros/cons of their engineering departments? What are the connections like? Stuff like that. Don’t just research on CC of course, research on their web sites and other places too.
