Where do I send 2010 federal parent and student tax returns?

Hello everyone! I'm about to send my parents tax return+schedules+W2 forms to Cornell.
One question, where do I send it?

Financial Aid Processing Center
349 Pine Tree Rd
Ithaca, NY 14850

?

I just want to be sure I send the documents to the right place.

Thanks a lot.

Can you send them in through here:

https://forms.finaid.cornell.edu/uploads.cfm</a></p>

Or is that only for forms?

Look at the bottom, in red:

I’m guessing you could upload, but they want an ink signature so… not sure how well that would work.

I think the online thing is only for Cornell’s forms:

“Cornell’s fillable pdfs should be saved to your hard drive, completed and signed. A typed name in the signature field is considered an electronic signature.”

where is the signatrue and what is the signature for?
I dont see any signature on my parents’ W2 form
and can I send a copy ? not the original one?

The signatures are for some of the forms, i.e. if you’re a non-filing student you have to submit Cornell’s non filer statement for students.

Just the tax return has to be signed, W2 does not.

Yes, you can send in copies.

Also, I got confirmation that you can submit your tax return/w2/1099 through the page I linked through earlier.

Good Afternoon,

All forms can be submitted electronically. Please send signed copies of your entire tax return, complete with all schedules and W-2’s. Please send 1099’s as well.

Thank you,

If we’re a new student just admitted, what is our Cornell ID Number? Do we just leave it blank?

So FYI, I discovered that the Cornell ID is the one listed on the initial financial aid offer letter that we received.

What if we applied for regular?
Anyone know where we would find our Cornell ID number?

calibrationx, I am a non-filing student (by that I mean I did not work in 2010-does that mean I am a non-filing student?), so it means that I have to submit Cornell’s non filer statement? Can I do that online?

I am asking because it never said so on the page here: https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/finaid/apply/prospects/20112012early.cfm</a> , which is essentially everything an ED student should send.

P.S. If anyone needs these links:
https://forms.finaid.cornell.edu/uploads.cfm</a>
https://www.finaid.cornell.edu/finaid/forms/upload/NonFileStudent-11-12.pdf</a></p>

Yes, you should. If you check your applicant status under financial aid to-dos, the non filer statement will be there.

hm, if so, what do I put under the “Source(s) of Income” and “Annual Amount(s)” columns? Should I leave them blank?

And how should I sign the form if I want to upload the document online?

Should I print it out, sign, scan and then upload or writing my full name on the *.pdf copy will be enough?

I just put n/a and $0 on the first line. I believe you can sign some forms electronically, but I opted to sign it by hand and just scan it again and uploaded the scan.

calibrationx, did you print all the other info (Name, DOB, ID) or you wrote it by hand?

Yeah, I have the same question as TheCollege, I’ve applied regular, so I was never made aware of any Student ID prior to this Non-Filer Statement. Where would I find the ID if I’m not even in the college yet?

you just type everything in and send it. if adobe reader wont let you save, use foxit reader.

apparently some people got a financial aid letter. i dont think i did; email finaid@cornell.edu with your applicant id and date of birth and hopefully they’ll reply (that’s what i did just now)

That answers my question, I just typed my name and submitted the .pdf file.

Spoke to financial aid about all my questions:

 1. On “student non-filer statement” if you are RD (like my ds) without a cornell ID #, just leave it blank. As long as your birthdate is correct, it is fine. They suggested I print it, have ds sign, scan it and upload it on https://forms.finaid.cornell.edu/uploads.cfm</a>.
 2. On 1040s, they require ink signature - I saved a copy of just the required fed forms from Turbo Tax (not all the worksheets etc) as a pdf, printed out pg 2 of 1040 (where signatures are), signed it, scanned and uploaded
 3. If on your fin aid checklist it shows your FAFSA is not received, and you have confirmation from fafsa that it was sent, it is likely that they just haven’t uploaded it yet. You can call and ck but she said they haven’t gotten to loading all that yet.
