I am aware of QuestBridge and I would appreciate being chanced for that as well!
Constructive criticism on certain aspects of my application is helpful too.
Too hard to say. All of those schools are extremely competitive. I would say all of them (with the possible exception of NYU, depending on which school you are applying to) should be considered reach schools.
I would assume you need a school that meets full need. Given that, I would take NYU off your list entirely. I am not sure about the rest outside of Vassar but I do know that Vassar meets full need (and being a male should help a tad).
I would agree that it’s on the reachy side. I hope you are planning on some safeties that you know you can afford or that meet full need. Based on the desire for an LAC I assume UW is not your first choice but do make sure that you aren’t counting it as your in-state safety. It would be a match at your stats.
@eandesmom Yes, I am looking for schools that have good financial aid. @HellaWong Thanks! And what would you guys say is the weakest aspect of my application? What is ruining my chances at these schools?
If you are religious, I would say that Wesleyan, Oberlin, and Vassar will not be a good fit. You have the best chance at Lafayette, but financial aid may be a problem.
If you can let us know what safeties you are considering so we see the full application strategy, what it is you want in a school, what you are considering studying, what your EFC is, what your family can afford (which may be different than the EFC) that will help folks give better recommendations.
The schools you’ve listed are quite different from each other so it’s a bit hard to give too much specific feedback without more info.
Price will need to be your first cut and whether or not the schools on your list are good for both need based aid and merit aid.
