Where do I stand.

Hello, this is my first time participating in this intellectual community. I am currently a freshman in High School and have been worried about my chances into Harvard.

I have a 4.0 currently. I am hoping to have a 4.41(Weighted, 4.0 unweighted) by the end of my high school experience. This stat was calculated by looking at my four year plan. They make us plan out our whole four years before starting. I am wanting to get all the AP/IB Math and Science courses. I may complete all the History classes they offer. AP/IB French will also be a course that I am going to participate in. I am taking 4 Aps in my Sophomore year. 6 IB's in my Junior year plus 2 AP. In my Senior year, I am going to take 4 IB's and 4 AP's.

I had a relatively low score on my PSAT in my Freshman year. I got a 190-196(Can not remember clearly.) What can I do to prepare for it in my sophomore year. I have been reading many SAT books and I am using Xggi's method.

I have not many EC's. Anyone can spot me an idea on some good ones? Take note that these are only in my Freshman year.
Here are Some:
Tennis
Math Club
Chemistry Club(Second in state in a competition)
Knowledge Club(Got 1st in state three times in a row with a team)
Chess Club
200+ hours of volunteering.
International Sporting Club.
Computer Club.
Participated in many school offered activities. Have certificates showing merits.

Sorry about the long read. Please recommend what I can do. This will probably change everything, but I'm also Asian. How does that affect me?

Your ECs are good, better than mine, at least. I am quite happy for you that you’ve decided to be 100% rather than 50% proactive by the end of your freshman year. So, here are some tips and mistakes to avoid.
Maintain the same Ecs you have now. Colleges like continuity and quality, not quantity. You already have a decent amount of extracurriculars. But do show passion in them. Also do something unusual. You seem math and sciency, so go out for Drama.
Now for your academics, which are most crucial…
You are really good so far. I am not familiar with IB, but I do think it would be better if you had 5 IB and 5 AP Junior Year, rather than 6 IB and 2 AP. Have a good mix of subjects within each. Plan out your SAT Subjects Tests accordingly. Do not take them if you have only had regular courses. It is best to take them after an AP course. Do not study for SAT IIs over the summer. Remember that these are only one-hour tests. They are something you should take care of in the academic year. In the summer, relax. Take up one or two volunteering commitments. It would be nice if you did the same thing throughout high school—again, the importance of continuity.

Finally, the SAT Reasoning Test and the ACT. Advice: Take one or both. Your preference. I prefer SAT because its “universal” to loosely put it, though ACT is not so bad. Study for this at a light level early on, and really get into it in the summer before junior year.

Best of Luck!

Source of Advice: Admission patterns of ex-seniors and my own flaws.

Most people don’t leave threads hanging, just saying.

Just saying, by the time you apply to Harvard don’t be suprised if the admission rate is lower than 5%.

Come back in 2 years…it’s way too early to tell…

Down be so down on the kid------you have a good shot, don’t worry. Just don’t get over your head about it.

Harvard admission rate going to < 5%? are you kidding me? the American population is increasing like crazy, yet all the colleges are staying at the same admissions rate. You’re full of **** if you think they’ll lower it that much. If anything, next year Princeton is opening like 50 new spots.

Honestly your a freshman why are you bothering? Why are you worrying about trying to get into Harvard right now? Also how do you know that Harvard is a match/fit for you this early into high school?
