Think this thread shows that students have many wonderful choices and that there are many good fits for individual students. Several posts have showed that students looking at W&M look at other schools that have some similarities to W&M but also many differences. It’s encouraging to know that students are really invested in the college search and finding a number of good fits

Of course :)

Whew. Fantastic. Just wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding about an ED student’s ability to persist in other pools (which is something they can’t do).

Welcome to the Tribe and we look forward to seeing you on campus in the fall.

Ok, I’ll be the boring one lol.

I applied to George Mason (accepted honors) Christopher Newport (accepted, honors invitation) Virginia Union (Wow! $$$$) and Wooster in Ohio (They informed me of my acceptance by phone…)

Besides W&M, my daughter applied to Dartmouth, Wesleyan, Vassar, Bowdoin, Bates, Colby, Loyola Univ. Maryland (accepted EA), Stonehill College (accepted EA), St. Michael’s (accepted EA), and UMass Amherst (accepted into Honors College - she is instate).

Fascinating list of schools to which everyone is applying. It’s interesting for us to know where else students are applying when also applying to W&M and what kinds of responses they’re seeing.

OK here is my list (crazy long) W&M, Cornell, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Williams, Wesleyan University (CT), Bucknell, Colgate, Boston College, Duke, Emory, Lafayette, MIT, Notre Dame, Richmond, UPENN, Vanderbilt, Washington University.

NC resident, applied to UNC, Wake Forest, Univ. of Richmond, W & L, Vandy, SMU, NYU (stern) and of course William and Mary! Crossing our fingers on William and Mary and the opportunity to enroll in Mason School of Business (so impressed!). We’re counting the days here. Will select W&M over UNC.

investor, keep in mind that you cannot apply to the Mason School of Business until the second semester of your sophomore year at W&M. Right now their application process is pretty straight forward. You need to have the pre-reqs, have junior standing, and then they admit by GPA. Usually a 3.2 GPA (give or take) is the cut-off but it varies a bit with each year.
