Where exactly is Ithaca?

On this map:

<a href="http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/states/new_york.gif%5B/url%5D">http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/states/new_york.gif</a></p>

Where it says "Tompkins."

If you look at the map of New York, in the middle of the state south of I-90 (Albany - Syracuse - Rochester) you see a whole bunch of long skinny lakes. Cornell is at the southern end of Lake Cayuga. No interstate highway passes within 30 miles of the school.

^ Thanks guys.

A little add on - Ithaca is about 50 miles from syracuse, 90 from rochester

ie. the middle of freaking no where. dont get me wrong, its pretty for camping and easy on the eyes. but still, the middle of no where but on a positive note, you will pass through ithaca if you want to get to almost anywhere in good old upstate new york.

haha, good ol' home sweet home

cornell is 30 minutes away from a ski resort, and season passes are dirt cheap!

Greek Peak friggin' rocks. Of course, all I have to compare it to is a "ski resort" in Iowa....
