Where is a good fit for high sats/very low gpa

i go to a pretty competitive private prep school, and my GPA is only an unweighted 3.0 (I’m not sure my class rank, they don’t tell us). My SAT’s, however, are a different story, I got a 2110. This SAT would qualify me for an upper tier college, but this GPA belongs at a community college. Does anyone know of any decent colleges that highly prioritize high SAT scores? Also, would taking some self studied AP tests boost my resume? Thanks in advance.

your HS guid counselor probably has the best info for you. Try him/her first. Good luck

3.0 isn’t that low… a lot of state schools would accept a 3.0 with those test scores…

Definitely ask the GC or check Naviance or prior acceptances.

A top 30-50 LAC would be receptive to someone with your profile (low GPA, competitive private prep school, and high SAT), so you should look into those where you fall at the 75th percentile or higher.

Many public schools also heavily admit based on formulas that usually calculate some weighted sum of the GPA and SAT, so that may be in your favor as well. However, public schools do tend to weight GPA more than SAT in order to get more widespread representation from high schools across their home state.
