This is my first post, but I'm hoping you guys can help. I took the PSAT in October, noticed that tons of people here got their scores, and I still have nothing! I've been awaiting my mail everyday, but to no avail. My counselors at school were...........about as helpful as a wall. And I noticed that College Quickstart thing the CB started, and it says "all you need to enter is the code of your PSAT score report." Well, I wish I could use this, but I have no score report! Do scores come by mail, via school counselor (in which case all hope is lost if I wanna see it before my January SAT)? Thanks a ton!

I got mine sometime in mid December from my school. (176, CR 60, M 56, W 60, 86th percentile). The guidance counselors gave it to the English teachers of everyone who took it.

yeah i coulda sworn i heard mid december but obviously that was not true.......but it was given to you through ur counselor which doesn't make me feel toooooo good but thanks for the info anyways

It's always through your counselor

Yeah, they don't send it in the mail.

I still haven't gotten mine either

noticed ur in Chicago, apparently the state is respnsible for the whole thing and not r individual schools............so we DO get them in the mail but when is anyones guess

No. You get them from your school guidance counselor, not in the mail. Trust me. And it's not different for Illinois, I live in Illinois. Different schools may have different policies, but they certainly already have the pieces of paper. Our school releases them as soon as they arrive, other districts may wait until after winter break, and some even later. I suggest you go to your guidance officers and ask, very nicely, when you'll be allowed to pick up your scores.

Here's another thread discussing this practice: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/429264-why-can-high-schools-withhold-psat-results-students.html

Don't believe me? Here's the college board website to counselors on the PSAT: Scores Reports

wow that second site says it all: scores arrive at schools in early december. BUT, my mom spoke w/ my GC (I've already spoken to her and she talks to me like im in 3rd grade) and she said that all scores are distributed by "them" with "them" being the state of IL and that all the GC's get is a sticker with the score of each student. I couldnt make this stuff up, and to think that this lady has to write me a rec next yr................

oh and that the stickers they get come way after we actually get the scores (in the mail). what part of IL do u live in DCforme?

Haha, my school district's withholding mine till Jan 15. Which is annoying, because I want to apply to summer programs, and I'd like to see which ones I'm qualified for first.

me too .
