The old CC used to have a permanent link to help new users to set font style, color, underline, quote,…
I don’t find it on the new CC.

Hi there…I’d like to ask if anyone has an old thread handy that goes over some of these. I believe it’s mostly the same as before. We don’t encourage members to use the styling options too liberally, but I primarily use these…

@Lenitus - I’m looking for that old section, too, mostly for reference for members who want to know how to quote, and cannot find it. Was it lost in the transition? Not too many people are going to come to this forum to find the post you wrote, unfortunately, so we need a link to provide instructions.
Well, I am thrilled to report that I redirected a member to your post #1 (after several other members had attempted to show her how), and she is now quoting in her posts! We may just have to refer back to this thread if we can’t find the old link.
Thanks for the update
I found what I needed in post #1 by luck. If you type @someone normally in black it will show @someone in blue. No special tags are needed in this case.
That’s all I needed. I did not find any instruction link.
Okay, you had also mentioned font styling and quoting as well in your note, so I wanted to include some of those. As for using the @ symbol in front of a username, you probably realize now that this is how you tag another member. Doing so sends them a notification that you have mentioned them.
I did not know that will send a notification. I learned something new.
I’m here. I don’t think there is an instructions link for most of the things in post 1, because under this new format, one cannot do most of the things listed.
Checking to see if we can still do color.
And different fonts.
Actually, it seems that we can
Bolding, underlining, italicizing…
…different colors and different fonts. What other things could we do before? I ask because other than bold I never actually used any of the others.
I don’t know that we ever published a visible tutorial for all of these because we don’t want to encourage everyone to start using different colors and huge, bolded fonts…primarily for legibility issues.
Does anyone know how to set the number of posts you can view on one page of a thread?
Unfortunately, this is a universal setting in the admin panel and is not customizable per user. It is currently set to display 15 comments per page.
I’ve searched all over the settings and was afraid this might be the answer. Thank you Lenitus. 15 is so few and so incredibly frustrating. I’m guessing that they wanted posters to be able to reference the page number and everyone would literally be on the same page. Just a suggestion to keep it non-customizable but raise the number to 30 or 40 posts at the least. This would definitely help. 50 posts per page would make it even easier to find a specific number post.
It seems that we’ve considered 20 before…or possibly even 25. I know there are some page load considerations as well. Let me follow up with our product manager and see if this has been discussed recently.
Thank you for looking into this Lenitus. Even 25 would be better.
I think the old format allowed 40 posts per page, which is what I liked. The posts are so spread out now that I’m guessing that might be difficult to allow.
I also liked seeing 40 posts on a page. I have no idea what the technical limitations might be, but it’s good to know that it is being considered. Nothing ventured …
