Where should I apply/ chance me!?

Hey, this is going to be a long one so let me thank you in advance.

I’m a Junior in high school and will be applying to colleges this fall, I have a list in my mind, I was wondering if you could help chance me and see if I should add/remove any colleges from my list.

My personality:
Not just a textbook/nerd kid, driven to do well in the classroom but have a great social life and more passionate about my ventures outside the classroom.

About Me:
-I live in Florida.
-I’m south asian.

Education:
-IB Program (Higher Level Math, hardest HL, taking the toughest classes I can including IB Chemistry)
-Class Rank 4
-5.06 Weighted 3.89 Unweighted. 1 B so far: sophomore year AP Euro
-SAT: 1480 (780 Math, 700 reading) (still plan on taking the test again) (18/24 essay)

Sports:
-Varsity Golf w. Varsity Letter (9th grade). (Didn’t make the team in 10th grade despite working hard all summer. Decided to prioritize and put it to the side to focus on my strengths instead of trying to fix this weakness. I still play often but for leisure. My school’s team is extremely competitive, didn’t make the cut shooting in the upper 80’s (which is pretty good for the general population).

Arts:
-Video Production (Certified in Adobe Premiere for Audio/Video Production)
-Lead Guitarist at a non-profit cultural band that raises around 9k/year from performances

School clubs:
-DECA (Cofounder, 10th- VP, District Champion, 8th at states); 11th- (President, increased membership 600%, District Champion, 2nd Place in the State, moving on to International Competition); 12th- (Will be president)
-Habitat for Humanity (11th- Fundraising Chairman, 12th-(running for office)
-Model UN- (all 4 years, 11th- treasurer, 12th- either President or VP) (Attended 2 conferences so far)
-IB Newspaper( all 4 years, 9th- freelance writer; 10th-12th Staff Writer)
-Finance & Investment Club- (11th- VP, 12th- (most likely president)
-National Honor Society- (will be VP for 12th grade)
-Live Life Healthy

Volunteer service:
-Over 240 hours at various organizations
4 big ones were:
-Orlando Regional Medical Center (Hospital, Summer 2016)
-Second Harvest Food Bank
-Nonprofit band
-Head youth organizer for a yearly charity 5k run

Work Experience:
-Worked at a golf course
-Freelance Video/Audio editing (My clients have been 3 private projects (one of which won an award at Deloitte), an IT company (created a commercial), and a Dance Studio (which I have edited for 2 years)
-Operate a Youtube Channel as an automotive journalist (created 7 months ago, produced 30 Videos so far, with 18,000 views. Plan to really pursue this during the summer- summer goal is to push it up between 1,000-5,000 subscribers so I have a following I can talk about)

Summer Programs:
-Summer 2016: Camp Cardiac
-Summer 2017: Camp Neuro, Florida Boys State Delegate, looking for an internship or research position, Youtube full time (daily uploads)

Certifications:
Adobe Certified Associate in Audio/Video Production
CPR Certified by American Heart Association

My long term goal is to practice Medicine, for undergrad I would like to pursue pre-med/ biomedical Engineering.

I’m really passionate about cars, math, and medical practice (haha the cars throws people off, I’m weird but it’s my relaxation)

I think I have good essay topics (possibly my story about overcoming a huge hit during junior year, and how it taught me to approach everything whether it be good or bad as an opportunity to grow) This affected my junior year grades a little bit (50% sure I will get 1-2 b’s, it could possibly be an A, Idk yet it could go either way)

Possible Recommendation Letters:

  • 9th grade AP Human Geography Teacher wrote me an amazing recommendation for summer programs, she would help me out again, and I’d love to ask her if colleges take older than junior year recommendations
  • DECA Club Sponsor (Marketing Teacher) knows me really really well and wrote me awesome reccs for summer programs, I want to ask her to write some college reccs
  • 11th/12th grade AP Calculus teacher (will have same teacher 2 years) likes me a lot, knows me well
  • 11th/12th grade French teacher (will have same teacher 2 years) likes me a lot, we share a passion for cars
  • 11th grade Psychology teacher, great relationships
  • 11th Grade IB English teacher (possibly) I do well in his class and he likes me
  • Guidance counselor will write me great reccs, I talk to her often and she recommends me to summer programs (got the camp cardiac/neuro opportunities, NHS office election, and Boys State because of her)

Where else should I apply/ where can I get decent financial aid out of state?

Thank you so much!!!

Nice stuff here.
UCF- Accept
FSU- Accept
UNCCH- Accept
UVA- Accept
UCLA- Accept/WL
UCB- WL
Michigan- Accept/WL
Florida- Accept

Stanford: WL/Reject
UPenn: Accept/WL
Harvard: WL/Reject
MIT: WL/Reject
Yale: WL/Reject
Emory: Accept/WL

If you’re looking to do BME, you should really take a look at Georgia Tech & JHU (#1 and #2 for BME, respectively).
Don’t feel bad about me chancing you wl/reject at the ivies, it’s really a crapshoot most times and one can’t really guarantee acceptance to a school like that. (esp HYPSM). The UC schools (esp UCLA & UCB) are really hard to get into from out of state. (I’d say Emory is a match while UCB is a reach). Another thing to consider is that it’s (unlikely? impossible?) to get (merit-based? any?) financial aid from the UC schools if you’re OOS.

Your extracurriculars are good and show commitments (esp w/ leadership positions) but they aren’t really related to your major (kinda general- I have the same problem). Your summer activities seem interesting & related but I don’t know much about them- they would probably be a good thing to talk about in your essays.

I’d also try taking the ACT. I didn’t do any prep for my first time and got a 35(.25). it’s not too hard to get a perfect score compared to the SAT especially if you do prep.
