Where Should I Apply Early?

I am planning to apply to a school early action. Right now, the two I am considering for early action are Georgetown or Harvard. I feel like I have much better odds at being accepted at Georgetown as opposed to Harvard, so I am afraid to waste my early action on a school I will likely not get into.

However, as far as I can tell, Harvard accepts 21% of their early applicants whereas Georgetown only accepts 13 or 14%. I know Harvard says that that number is due to the particularly strong pool of early applicants, and that the same students would be admitted regardless of when they apply. This disparity still makes me wonder, not to mention Georgetown has a lower acceptance rate early than it does for regular decision, and I am curious if anyone has any insight on this process.

If I am missing any other criteria that I should consider I’d love to know. I feel like it’s probably going to come down to whichever I like better… Thanks in advance for any input!

The other criteria you are missing is early action and recruited athletes. Harvard has 20 men’s teams while GTown has 11. All those students apply early.
