Where should I go? Universities in the East

I am a rising junior, with a GPA around 3.3-3.5
Lets say i get 600 in each category of the Sat's, and a 28 ACT, also the world history sat 2 i got a 620. I'm involved in a few extracurricular s such as mock trial, lacrosse, etc. I go to a highly ranked private school in upstate NY.

He is what i Want for my college "specifications".
-Outside NYS
-Near a big city like New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington
-Medium sized school 8000-18000 undergrads
-Diverse, but surrounded by "smart kids", Not all preps, not all artsy kids...I want a big mix
-A larger Girl/Guy ratio
-Good Business program
-Politically aware
-Musicians come to campus frequently
-Good Campus, Large, full of cafes, a big quad, many places to study around campus, wireless access everywhere, restaurants nearby, many bars around
-Drinking? What turned me off about BU is that i hear drinking is a problem on campus, I do not want that to be an issue, I want a place where I can have fun and party on campus
-I want good profs, and the classes to be large at first, but smaller as i progress into sophomore, junior year, etc. Lectures to be large
-Not amazingly hard to get into, but a university that accepts 45-65%
-Nice dorms, a "small community"
-Many student activities, students are involved

thanks, I'm just looking for suggestions and why you suggest it

I liked American but its too small student wise and its campus was puny.

northeastern?

Villanova, Providence, Fordham?

NYU-if you’re willing to go somewhere with more than 18,000 undergraduates and that doesn’t have a real campus. Other than those two things, I think it fits your criteria nicely (but it’s a little harder to get into)

Northwestern or University of Chicago

Two of the best schools in Chicagoland area

Is Vassar too small for you? It’s a difficult school to get into but they love guys (60-40 girl:guy ratio).
Fordham sounds good too.

Hows Ohio University-Athens?
I hear its a party school, but yet has a good mix of those who are there for academics, and students are somewhat political and a lot of them are smart?

Pittsburgh?

Take a look at DePaul and Loyola in Chicago, Marquette in Milwaukee, St. Louis U. in St. Louis, Providence College in Providence, St. Joe’s in Philly and Butler in Indianapolis. They’re all solid but not terribly selective medium sized Universities in big cities. Tulane would be more of a reach for you but it would fit the bill too.

(By the way, I’m not trying to steer you to Catholic colleges – it’s simply that many of them are located in big cities and they are all about the size you indicated you were looking for.)

And Vassar and Fordham, i probably couldn’t get in, but my sister right now is considering Fordham as her safety…Plus they are probably too small. After looking at Ohio University in Athens I’m liking that, but its a little over an hour away from Columbus…Thats probably my only turn off as of right now.

Northeastern University.

What could you tell me about St.Louis University? I quickly glanced at those you recommended, and St.Louis somewhat stuck out from the others. (Ive already looked at DePaul, Marquette, St.Joes, providence) Butler is too small.

Im going to be at northeastern on Monday for my sisters visit, then visiting harvard, brown, yale, all for her! damn…

******bump

University of Maryland

Temple fits most of what you said, minus size.

Miami University in Ohio?

Ill look into maryland and temple…not miami cuz its not diverse, its white preppy kids everywhere

If you have any questions about Temple, feel free to PM me.
