Where to Apply Early Decision?

I want to apply early decision to either Bowdoin, Colby, or Washington and Lee, but I am unsure which to choose. I am revisiting all schools in 2 weeks, but I am interested to see what others think about these three schools?

Can you share a little more about what you’re interested/looking for?

I’m looking to major in economics, then possibly law school? Not 100% decided on a major yet, and I liked both Maine and Virginia. A good alumni network, as well as a strong and vibrant student community would be great. I row, so Bowdoin and Colby’s rowing teams are definitely a plus. Not exactly sure how I feel about cold winters though… Thank you so much!!

In terms of strength in economics as measured by faculty publishing across liberal arts colleges, Bowdoin (17), Colby (19) and W & L (21) could not be much closer:

I would check to see if Bowdoin 's crew is varsity or club, and if so, what difference that makes for you. Are you seeking recruitment? Talk to coaches either way if this will be a big part of your life.

Colby has different options in its economics majors and minors. Look at the department 's website for that. I think they have a managerial economics path as well as a more theoretical one.

Culturally, Colby and Bowdoin are similar. I am not as familiar with W&L but feel like it iis the most different from a vibe pov. Maine is cold in the winter, but there are also great winter sport opportunities.
