Hi guys,my situation is rather unique, as you can see below.
I need a good list of schools to apply to.

3.65 UW GPA/ 4.4 WGPA at highly competitive school (Doesn't rank(
2320 SAT
800's in Math I and Math II in middle school
800 in Spanish
790 in Physics
Taking Princeton Course in Spanish
Medical research at two prestigious medical schools (published 2 peer-reviewed papers)
Silver medal at a well-known national science competition
Other minor awards
two officerships in two different science clubs
Tournament-level chess player

Considering that I want to be a doctor, I don't want to attend a school that's exorbitantly expensive. However, the Ivies are offering me quite a lot of aid (provided that I get in :( ).
Can anyone list of colleges that I should apply to? Also, what would be a good place to apply ED?

You are actually typical other than very high test scores, to many students in competitive high schools. Look at your high schools Naviance data to see where kids with your GPA are accepted in terms of the highly selective schools. That is the best indicator, IMO for that situation.

As for financial aid, until you apply, sending in your PROFILE and FAFSA, no one is offering you anything. The most generous schools use PROFILE as well as FAFSA and many things like qualified plan money (yes, they ask how much there is squirreled away there), house value and sometimes even the value of the filling in your teeth are included in your parents’ assets. If you need or truly want financial aid, ED is not the way for you to go. You need to compare offers.

What any, and every student should do is find a school that is definitely affordable and will definitely take you, will prepare you well for medical school and has the best of those other things you want in a school, That is where you go if the money or admissions does not pan out for your other choices.

From there, the sky is the limit, and apply away with wild abandon. Your stats are high enough that you have a chance at the most selective schools. Don’t worry too much about schools that are not need blind, as some of them have the best packages for those they do accept. As long as you have some variety in your list and your bases are covered, go to town.

It’s my dream to go to the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. However, I’m afraid that choosing a lower-tier school over a more prestigious one (given that I get accepted to a prestigious school, of course), may hurt my chances of getting there. I also don’t want to derail my parents’ financial future. This is a very real possibility, because I’m an only child and I could quite easily picture them burning all of their assets on my education.

You should be reading some of the sticky threads on the PreMed Topics forum. There are many very experienced members there and the whole “which school to chose?” is a constant FAQ.

I think Harvey Mudd would fit your needs; it has the academic power like other LACs but less emphasis on humanities. I think there’s probably a correlation between good bio PhD prep for research and prep for medicine.
