Hi guys,
quick question: where to buy textbooks for a bargain? and another thing: I think I might be missing out on a lot of stuff but did mit411 somehow disappear??? isn't it http://www.mit411.com? but some weird site somehow shows up. maybe, this is what two semesters of pure science does to a person; your memory becomes blurry and you don't remember what exactly happened or didn't happened...
ok, if there is no site anymore, then where can i buy books from upperclassmen?
thanks, like always.

the easiest way to get books from upperclassmen is find some in your major and ask them. the next way is try apo's book exchange, http://web.mit.edu/apo/www/bookexchange.shtml. your dorm request list might also come in handy. mit411 got abandoned by its owner, and the domain has lapsed; some guy is trying to take over where he left off with mit412.com. i was under the impression that he'd been spamming all the dorm lists, but if you're not on any of those, that may be why you haven't heard this. there's also at least one other site i've seen advertised on bulletin boards that mentioned student text exchanges, but i can't remember what it is, now.

Somebody sent an email to Macgregor advocating http://www.campusbeacon.com -- I haven't really looked, so I'm not advocating or anything.

Oddly, I am reasonably sure that the person who started/ran mit411.com is a new GRT in Macgregor this year...?

Thanks guys!

A newcomer in the book exchange game, bookX (http://bookx.mit.edu), will quickly pick up steam. I highly recommend the site as it is the most simple and most elegant book buying solution on campus.

Thanks aferdowsi!
