Back home I usually just spend $5 for a haircut. I'm a guy and I don't care enough to go to a salon. Heck, due to the fact that I get them so cheaply back home even spending $10 on a haircut is foreign to me.

Are there any good cheap places to get a cut?

Not really. The best you can do is go to HEB and on the back of their receipts is a coupon for a 7.99 haircut at great clips. That in itself is pretty damn cheap. I haven’t seen a $5 haircut in almost 10 years.

Yeah, back home I could find $5 haircuts at a specific hair salon on Tuesdays. I’d usually pay about $9.50 though back home. But yeah, I haven’t seen those prices at the places I’ve passed by in Austin. I’ve only cut my hair once though and it was back home when I went to visit.

There is a place advertising a $9 haircut at Guadalupe and 25th, I think. I don’t know how good they are.

I go to Cisco at the Wooten Barber Shop. He does an excellent job for $15 plus tip. A lot of my friends go to Cindi at Abel’s Barbers in the Towers parking garage. They all think she does an amazing job. I don’t know what she charges though.

DO NOT GO TO THE PLACE ON THE DRAG. They are cheap for a reason. You will end up paying $25 because you have to get another haircut to fix the haircut they gave you.

The Great Clips on 28th and Guadalupe is close and professional. Regular priced haircuts are $12.95, but each Tuesday in the Daily Texan there is a $3 off coupon. You pay $10 and get a haircut from a professional chain that is close to campus.
