I am heading into my junior year soon and hoping to do something like an internship or something like governors school(applied, didn't get in) that would help me later on with getting into colleges, honor societies, and hopefully governors school next summer. I live in northern VA and have looked into various sites but have been unable to find anything at all I could do. I've searched everywhere and have found nothing I can do. For some more info, I will not be 16 by the summer and am not a citizen, which has already barred me from things like SSIP, and various opportunities at Museums nearby. Mostly interested in the STEM category with focuses on engineering later on. I know a lot of people on this forum have done summer internships and the like while in high school...so how were you able to find them? Any advice and reccomendations for places to look? I already volunteer here and there but don't think that would be a big boost doing it for the whole summer. Also I don't want to spend thousands of dollars going to a foreign country to volunteer or an expensive summer academy. Thanks :)
I’m 15 too and im having an incredibly hard time finding things that arent 16+…dont want to do it after my junior year as thats really late…idk man
