Where to go - computer engineering

Hi, I have been accepted into NJIT, Rutgers Newark/New Brunswick (2+2), Stony Brook, Binghamton and URI, so far. My mother is being a pain about going to the best college I can. Anyone has any idea how to rank these?

Either of the SUNY schools would be my recommendation. I'd put Binghamton over Stony Brook too.

But, to rank:

Binghamton
Stony Brook
NJIT
Rutgers Newark
URI

I ranked them based on math sats and gave a preference to state schools, because frankly they are going to be more well known than private schools of equivalent quality.

Go to either of the SUNY schools if you can.

stay clear from any school with a IT at the end of it, except MIT. They are trash.

Of the 3 Suny schools I tend to think Buffalo has the best engineering school, followed by Stony Brook. Im not a fan of Binghamton to much. All give you a pretty similar degree.

Whoa whoa whoa. California Institute of Technology? I guess that's trash too. RIT? (Well, it's not an Ivy, but it's on par with a lot of public state flagships). What about the Carnegie Institute of Technology?

This is probably true. I think that if you get into a private school and a public school of equivalent quality you should go to the public school. They tend to have more prestige (because they are larger and graduate more people).

I'm about to put that user on ignore...

Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Georgia Institute of Technology
California Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Illinois Institute of Technology
Stevens Institute of Technology

All in the Top 100. The first three are in the Top 5 graduate schools.

But back to the OP's question...

Binghamton is the most well known nationally. URI has started to build a national reputation, but isn't quite there yet. They're on the rise, though. Rutgers is nationally known, but for sports and not academics.

I kinda forgot about those, sorry about that one. I was more talking about NYIT and NJIT which are both pos, Stevens and Illinois are both pretty bad to. I remember getting a lot of mailings from all 4 wanting me to come to there crappy schools.
