Where to go for an Astronomy major.

<p>I was just wondering about what college would be good for majoring in astronomy. I'm looking for a college in an urban environment and preferably in the Midwest or Northeast (someplace where the weather isn't hot all of the time). I'm currently looking at Ohio State (in-state), University of Michigan, Wisconsin-Madison, Columbia, Harvard, Cornell, and Dartmouth (the last two aren't exactly in a big city, but I'll see how I like it when I visit). I've already ruled out Illinois-Urbana-Champagne for being too rural and empty-feeling and Case Western for having an Astronomy department with a grand total of two undergrads.</p>

<p>Are there any other schools in the Midwest and Northeast that would be good for astronomy?</p>

<p>Emory has an Astronomy program, but I’m not sure how amazing it is or if it matches your climate preferences.</p>

<p>Uva has a surprisingly good astronomy program.</p>

<p>cornell and UCSC are best in terms of reputation</p>
