I'll keep it relatively short. I started off community college with the intentions of getting straight A's in order to get into better schools that I had been accepted to from high school. While in cc, my motivated dwindled and my priorities got mixed up due to extenuating circumstances, and my gpa was considerabley lower than intended (about a 2.7). I applied to UIUC, UIC, DePaul, and Loyola for tansfer into the lib arts econ program, but wasn't expecting much feedback. Surprisingly, I was accepted at DePaul and Loyola and rejected by UIUC and UIC (shocker seeing as how I had legacy and Depaul and Loyola are more picky). Anyway, I really love DePaul and visited and I'd rather go there over Loyola, but they're both expensive. Should I just attend DePaul and put all my past shortcomings behind me? I need to decide soon.

You will be paying a lot of money at a university…compared to CC. Are you ready to apply yourself? Only you can answer that.

Yeah I think I’ve learned a lot about myself by staying home and going to community college. My performance at cc wasn’t the best, but I think I was mostly discouraged and longed to be at a university. (Even though underperforming seems counterintuitive for someone trying to transfer). But hindsight is 20/20 and I think if I were to be at a university, I’d put in full effort. I just need a change of scenery.
