my dd got into urbana , GW, , uc davis , UBC(canada). Indian passport. possible majors politics, economics . pls give views on where to go . very confused
Are they all the same cost?
If that isn’t an issue, I would pick GW based on location in DC, especially for a student interested in politics.
GW would obviously be the top choice for politics, considering its proximity to DC. But the rest have really strong academics as well. UIUC and UCD are in college town settings while GW and UBC are in very large cities. What’s your estimated COA if that’s a concern for you?
Also, in other threads it appears that you’re a student looking for advice. Just an fyi, CC doesn’t allow multiple users per account.

will visa pose an issue post completion?
I’d suggest creating a new thread for the issue so that those with more knowledge on the subject can answer.
“will visa pose an issue post completion?”
In the US immigration is a political issue, which you might interpret as “unpredictable”. In general it is assumed that international students will return home after graduation.
In Canada (if your daughter goes to UBC) if you get a four year degree (usually a bachelor’s degree) that qualifies you for a 3 year work visa. If you find an appropriate job, then they can help you apply for a permanent resident visa around about the time that your 3 year work visa runs out. Immigration to Canada is largely based on merit, with employability being rather high on the list.
