Studying International Relations & Economics, then Law, then entering into Politics - Which School?

My daughter has been accepted to several universities and she needs to make her decision in the next couple days. She would like to study International Affairs and Economics and then study Law in a good school such as in Harvard and then work for the State Department, United Nations, World Bank or some other similar institutions. She has been accepted to George Washington University in DC, UCLA, Berkeley, UC San Diego, University of Virginia, Boston University and NYU. The price of all of them is almost the same considering the scholarships that she has received.
Can you please let me know which school would be the best for her to choose considering this career path that she has in mind? Each school has positive and negative points and she is not sure what to choose to help her get good fundamentals about International Relations and Economics, good internships and study abroad program, good networking opportunity and help her get into a good law school. Thanks in advance for all your feedbacks.

Being in close proximity to NYC or DC would be good in terms of proximity to internships, job opportunities, etc.

Thanks for your response. She is also more interested in George Washington University in DC because of internship opportunities. My concern is that it seems GWU academically is not as good as UCLA and Berkeley and I am thinking my daughter might be in disadvantage when she wants to go to a good law school later. Is this a legitimate concern? Thanks.

BTW - when it comes to actual college decision making, I recommend re-posting in the main forum

Especially if the only person responding on this one is me, who is not perfectly fluent with IR programs.

I found this document though - it refers to which schools are “feeder schools” for the american bar assocation

However, at the same time, you need to keep in mind GWU is smaller than UCLA and UCB

Where does your D want to go? She can get internships in DC over the summer from any of those schools. The biggest drivers for law school acceptances are GPA and LSAT score.

Thank you, philbegas! I reposted this to the College Search Selection forum.

Thanks also for the provided links for the feeder schools!

Thanks suzy100. My daughter prefers GW due to internship opportunities, although it has the lowest rating among Berkeley, UCLA and UVA.

Rating as in ranking on US News?

US News and also other places like startclass.com.

Personally I don’t place too much stock in the overall usnews ratings @FutureEye . If you look at the ranking methodology you’ll see it’s easy for it to fall victim to previous bias.

What did she choose?
