Many of the colleges I’m applying to ask homeschoolers for a list of the books they read during high school. I have read A LOT over the course of my high school career-my reading list is 12 pages long (and this is just one of them…) I want to submit the reading list myself rather than my mom submitting it (she’s listed as my counselor and as such is filling out the school report, writing course descriptions, etc.) I feel that coming from me it would be more authentic-but I don’t see anywhere on the common app to upload it (It’s too long to fit in the additional info section). The only place to upload files is where they have the option to upload a resume…but it isn’t a resume so I’m wary about uploading it there. Any suggestions? Should I just have my mom upload it?
Why would it be more authentic coming from you? If they ask the counselor to include this, then have your mom do it.
@suzy100 They just ask for a reading list-they don’t specify who they want it to be submitted by. I will probably just have my mom submit it, but I wanted to check and see what other people thought first

It is not unheard of for a student to say, ‘why yes, I have read the assigned book’ when they haven’t actually read it…
in general the assumption is that the ‘counselor’ is less likely to, um, embellish the applicant’s record than the applicant is. It’s why they don’t have you submit your own grades.
