Where will I make more money?

If you were looking to make loads of money, like I am. (Yeah I know, wishful thinking) What field would be best to go into?

I was thinking either Corporate Law or Investment Banking.
Or if you have any other ideas within those two fields.
Please no medical or dental professions, science unfortunately is not my strong suit.

Legal or not? Prostitution has always been extremely profitable, as has drug smuggling. Then there is slum lording.

Before you set your sights on a career in law, make sure you speak with several practicing attorneys. The field is hurting right now, and even in its best times, about half the profession hates it … but cry all the way to the bank.

As to Investment Banking, it can be quite profitable, and not apparently as hated as practicing law.

Honestly, the greatest number of multimillionaires in the country are small and medium sized business owners. Go start a small business, work your arse off, and by the time you’re 40 you might be rich. You just don’t get rich being someone else’s employee, outside IB of course.

Banking is much more lucrative than corporate law. But the bar to enter is extremely high: you need to be a top student at a top school.

Agree with Dunnin, best route is to work for yourself.

Thanks for your responses, looking to be as successful as possible. Leaning towards IB and finance now.

Where do you go to school?

Hold on…

Which do you want, “to make loads of money”, or “to be as successful as possible”?

While they aren’t mutually exclusive, they aren’t the same thing.
