Where will you be applying for Transfer Fall 2008?

Yury, where do you go to school? I'm in a similair albeit less intense situation.

Also, I'd recommend trying for spring. You don't have as good a shot and the uber prestige school(probably the best is Wash U) don't offer it but you seem kind of miserable. It couldn't hurt.

NYU (CAS) and Barnard for now.

krnpsycho... yes they will most definately weigh in your high school records. unless you have 30+ units in which case they don't care too much. You can try, but the film school is a very CRAZY difficult school to get into. For instance, if you're doing production [which is what i wanted to do before i changed my mind] only 48 freshmen 48 transfers and 50 graduates are admitted every year!!!!! You have to be totally super gifted. But I chose to follow a different route to get to what I want to do , TV. So ive chosen Communications with an emphasis in Entertainment, Film and TV. That way I can still take about half my classes at the school and maybe even transtition into it later on. Think about it, maybe if you really want to go to USC you should consider a similar alternate major. Good luck. :)

I would, but I already have an apt for the year, plus I'm on track (knock on wood) for a 4.0 this semester. Hopefully that happens, then I work my a$$ off next semester and that'll show "growth" (had a 3.5 last year, although it should've been a 3.8, yes more crappy situations) so hopefully me finishing up this deplorable year will reap some sort of reward.

@JuanaEcobar

well then maybe I should apply for junior year...

I'd like to think I'm super gifted...hehe

Picking a similar alternate major sounds good to just get in but I want the whole film production thing taught. I don't want to get bits of it here and there but take teh whole thing and become the next best thing.

I'm not doing so well my freshman year so yea. I'll come back to Emerson for soph and then try to transfer for junior year.

BTW Juana I hope to see your work on the big screen or t.v someday. GL

NYU, Reed, Vassar, WashU, Boston U, Pitt

Thx! Likewise."I'd like to think I'm gifted"... lol. me too I just want to be at USC for longer :) so I'm most likely double majoring.

USC Pomona College UCB UCLA :)

Penn, Vanderbilt, UVa, USC, UW (Wash.)

first choice is Virginia

UChicago, Cornell (CAS & CALS), Northwestern, WashU

Yes! Keep the WashU love coming. What an amazing place.

well you guys can take my spot at WashU cuz i am trying to get the hell out of here. There are far too many kids who were nerds in high school who come here and think they are cool because they drink like crazy. I am sorry that i did enough to have fun in high school, and don't want to squander away my future. This is a great school though, but the people are really annoying.

Uh, Yury. If you wouldn't be happy staying at your present school I would put a few more schools on there that aren't a reach for ANYONE let alone a transfer student who has overall less than a 4.0. Have you SEEN the admit stats for transfers? Dismal.

I don't understand why if you seem to have such bad luck you wouldn't do a little more preparation. Maybe they go hand in hand :) Nah, just messing with you - but seriously, I would consider adding a couple more realistic choices to your list unless you are close to curing cancer.

^lol appreciate it. But I'm not sure where I'd go or would like to attend. I'm up for suggestions of realistic choices that are reaches instead of crapshots. A PM or msg on aim would be appreciated.

Looking at applying to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, LSA

^I don't think that place is for me. The price is too high for it's "prestige" and value, and also, I don't think I could survive living somewhere so rural. I'm into big cities :) Or places that have beautiful, isolated campuses

Well if you're into big cities, I don't know about Cornell then. But you did say you'd like beautiful, isolated campuses...

Uh... maybe Wash U. Its got prestige when dealing with employers although you'll get a lot of "Why is there a University of Washington in St. Louis?" from normal people on the west coast.
Saint Louis is a pretty big city. I don't if the campus is isolated but apparently its quite beautiful.

Northwestern if you don't mind the cold and are into a more subdued party scene. Big city of Chicago but Northwestern is sorta isolated because of its suburb location.

my sister goes to cornell and its like a city in the college, so even though on the outside its all rural the inside is real city like

Michigan and the University of Florida for sure. I need to figure out what I'm doing.
