Now that the decisions are over, we all have to decide where we'll spend our next two years soon.
To which UC (or other university/ccc) are you going to go in fall 2011 (or spring 2012)?

UCLA or CAL

i am TORN between ucla and cal. since i have a family to think about, i dont know if i can realistically move them all up to berkeley… but on the other hand, berkeley is giving my twice and much finanacial aid.

can i SIR to both and just choose at the last second?? blah

I’m 99% sure I’m going to Cal!

NO, Liz!!! Don’t SIR to both or you’ll seriously risk getting rescinded.

SD or SB. Pretty happy with both! :D

BERRRRRRRRKELELEEYYEYELELELEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

got into all 6/6 of the schools i applied to though. except usc…my parents would never ever never pay and i still havent heard back from them so i’m just not counting them. applying was a waste of time, and i probably took a spot from someone who actually really wanted to go there :(

GO BEARS!!!

really??

i SIRed to UCLA right after i got accepted b/c i just assumed i would go there. i had no idea my financial aid would be so good at Berkeley and that it might actually be worth moving up there.

can i un-SIR? i just want to apply for family housing at Berk now in case i decide to go there.

@redo USC already told you?? i thought they hadnt released decisions yet?? edit: wait sorry i got so excited i didnt even finish reading your post. sorry.

I believe you can undo your SIR. Don’t do it though if you’re not absolutely sure you don’t want to go to LA. My guess is that once you undo the SIR, you’ll decline the admissions offer (not really sure about it though).

UCSB. I SIR’d 2 weeks ago :)

…DITTO!!

In my case however, I get VERY little financial aid from EITHER of the schools (I’m in a very unique situation - older, nontraditional student etc.).

So, from a purely practical (financial) standpoint UCLA is the way to go, since I’ve lived in LA forever  and pay dirt cheap rent, and also have family that must move etc.

but my heart says Berkeley (it was such a long hard fought journey after all). Don’t get me wrong, I love UCLA too but Cal seems to have that something special about it that makes me want to do whatever I can do to make it work and go up north!

…but in the end I just might end up at LA. I’m surely going to visit Cal though and make my decision very carefully. So no SIR-ing for me as of yet!! :D

I submitted my SIR for UCLA yesterday. I got my acceptance in the mail from USC yesterday and was considering the two, but I know more people going to UCLA and loved the campus (haven’t actually seen USC, but heard it’s equally as nice). I also did not finish the financial aid portion at USC. Berkeley was my first dream school so I’m quite surprised I didn’t really factor it in as heavily… guess I’m more of a socal person…

Accepted to Berkeley and la but… Going to San diego!! :)!!

UCLA vs Davis over here.

blah. and i want to appeal Berkeley.

i hate this.

[Where do you go?](<a href=“No Mercy - Where Do You Go - YouTube”>No Mercy - Where Do You Go - YouTube)

UCB was my top choice and I plan on going there.

I do like all the other schools I got into as well and feel kind of bad. Anyone else share these feelings?

I feel a bit, but only a bit, bad for not going to LA or Davis, Keith.

San Diego!

@victor yes i suppose i am non-traditional becasue i had a gap in my education and i have two preschool aged kids, but i am 26 so not crazy non-traditional, lol. or maybe that is old for the UC’s?i have no idea.

i am shocked at how much support Berkeley has for student- parents. they have a class that is two credits just for student parents that helps you build a support system and find a balance between “your family and your GPA” lol.

i live in LA too and my husband does set design fo photo shoots so i dont think he is too into the idea of moving up there (lots of work in LA, not much in SF). blah. i wish i could see into the future.

It’s been a long hard battle between UCLA, Berkeley, and UCSD. After a bit of thinking, I narrowed it down to UCLA and UCSD. But now, I’m officially going to UCSD! Whoot!

I am a glorious son of Westwood, where dwell the brave at heart.

submitted SIR to UCLA. Cal doesnt offer my intended major, so decision was made easily.
